Most clients book trims every 8–12 weeks; short styles need trimming every 6–8 weeks. Frequency depends on hair health, texture, styling habits and desired length. Your technician will recommend a personalized trim schedule to preserve ends and maintain shape.

Trimming doesn't increase hair growth rate, but it prevents split ends and breakage so you retain more length over time. Regular trims create healthier hair ends, reduce damage, and help you achieve visible length retention faster.

Yes — we can trim natural hair, but extensions or weaves are usually removed first to access real ends. If you have installed extensions, mention them when booking. Chin’s will assess and recommend removing or adjusting hair so trims are accurate and damage-free.

Trim appointments are quick: generally 15-30 minutes depending on length, thickness, and any styling. If combined with treatments or blowout, allow more time. We aim for precise, efficient trims to leave hair healthy and polished.

A standard trim focuses on removing damaged ends and won't dramatically alter your shape or length. If you want a noticeable change, request a reshaping service. Your stylist will consult and confirm how much length to remove before cutting.

After your trim, use hydrating conditioners, minimize heat styling, apply a heat protectant when needed, and use regular deep-conditioning treatments. Sleep on silk or satin and book follow-up trims as recommended to maintain healthy ends.
